I am so happy to be able to teach YOGA this spring in the beautiful Clearing Studio LIVE!! The Spring Schedule will begin April 6.

Tuedays and Thursday classes:

9:30 - 10:45       Moderate / Advanced Level

11:00 - 12:15     Beginning / Moderate Level

You are responsible for letting me know weekly if you will or will not be coming since spaces are limited.  I will be gone the first week of May but you will be given a reminder.

Note: Advanced class means that you have a practice and knowledge of asana and pranayama. In the other class I will focus more on technical instruction of postures and breathing exercises. I will reccomend which class is a fit for you.  I read the room whenever I teach and let prana and experience guide me, and your amazing bodies and energy drive me.

5 students (vaccinated) will be allowed in each class or 6  max if you breathe the same air and can be placed closer than 6 ft apart. Bring your own mat and props and we will continue to wear masks.

COST: $10 donation per class.  I do not check whats given, so if you cant afford it do not worry. Put in what you can. I remain motiviated to help "yoke" your body, mind, and emotions as we continue to deal with the virus.

I am available for PRIVATE session(s) as well and detemine cost based on need.

The weather to me feels weird. We are still navigating throuh Covid 19. My hometown of Mpls is in the midst of the trial for George Floyd. Sometimes nothing feels "normal" whatever that is. I am in fight or flight much of the time but I know it and that really helps. My practice grounds me and it  helps me be less reactive and joyful.  May you feel grounded, joyful, and HOPEFUL that the new normal unites us all on a deeper level.

P.S.   IF YOU WANT TO LET YOUR YOGA DANCE CHECK OUT JURIANHUGHES.COM, my Kripalu collegue and friend that is rocking it online!!

Tuesday Yoga Classes at The Clearing began again on 3/16!  Note: On April 1 there will be Thursday classes (same times and levels both days.) Classes are not just for Boomers but the schedule below is retirement friendly!  It may work for some lunch hour people:

11:00 - 12:15 Beginning/Moderate Level

12:30 - 1:45   Moderate/*Advanced Level

* Advanced does not mean difficult poses. Students know pranayamas, locks, some yogic philosophy, etc. in addition to asana.

I will reccomend which class is a fit for you, contact me through this site or call/text me. You must have a reserved spot. I can safely serve 6 people and masks should continue to be worn.  Bring your own props.

COST ;  $10 DONATION per class.  But I am not keeping track of what you contribute.

The Lotus flower is among other things a symbol of self-regeneration and rebirth. It's also a beautiful flower that reaches up from the muck.  I hope to be able to reach people who need Yoga right now, people who may be stuck in the mud, people who want to rise up.  Ambi Yoga is a work in process so Please join me in expanding it. I am wide open to feedback.        Shante Om, Ambika

I am happy to announce that I will open the door to The Clearing Studio for live Yoga Classes on March 16. I have invited returning students to participate on:

Tuesdays: 11:00 - 12:15  Beginning/Moderate Level

                 12:30 - 1:15   Moderate/Advanced Level

We will follow protocals for safety; masks, social distancing, bring your own props. Good news is Boomers/Front Liners will be vaccinated including me! I can serve 5 students in each class and will need to know weekly if you will be coming. I will not be advertising to the general public but True North patients will be welcomed. I hope to add a couple more classes next month on Thursdays.  Contact me with ANY questions.

Cost will be $10 donation.

Almost a year ago I walked out of a class with Matt Sanford at Mpls Yoga Center Retreat and hugged an owner good-bye as they were shutting their studio down. I knew I'd be doing likewise.  I drove home in a daze leaving my adult daughter to navigate alone on crutches and a knee down scooter (she was recovering from surgery on her right foot.)  Situational Stress plus some health issues caused me to wonder if I'd have a melt down. So yes, in the months that folIowed I certainly did, but I'm here to tell you that through it all I did my practice and other simple interventions daily. I didn't feel any better at the time but my Higher Self witnessed the perfect storm of physical, mental, and emotional challenges. And when I started to recover positive change occured quickly. I am living proof that Yoga offers healing power as long as you;

Breathe, Relax, Feel, Watch, Allow.  BRFWA.  If you want more coaching on this, Sangha, depth classes LMK!  It is my honor and calling to be a guide on your journey of being fully ALIVE.

Take Care Friends,  Ambi

The Clearing Studio is still closed as of today, 2-1-2021, but I am thinking about opening the doors again fairly soon. Mid Feb. or @ end of the month I may invite the same small groups of students I had coming in to return $ follow the same protocal. As more people get vaccinated I can add new students. Video taping is still on hold until it safe to do so. And maybe later this summer I'll do workshops?? I have had many Creative Ideas (meaning my default mode is on overdrive during pandemic.) But some are definite possibilities. Meanwhile.....

Weather talk; A frigid cold front is moving in this weekend so it will feel like "normal" Northern Minnesota weather. I have to confess that our weird, mild temperatures have been both disturbing and a godsend. I wander the nearby swamps and often do pranayama, forward folding, and standing like a tree. I do Warrior poses in my boots. But I really miss teaching live, I miss the deep connections, I miss my old yoga clothes, and I miss you!! Buddha said  "patience is the greatest virtue." May we all remain patient and be virtuous. May we all keep practicing yoga at home. I'm sending out light to you, so continue to send it on.    Jai Bhagwan, Ambika

New Beginnings for 2021 can be simple. Stay safe, remain patient as we wait to get vaccinated, and ride the waves of Covid fatigue.  Changing up your Yoga Practice might help you ride the waves. I wish I could be teaching in The Clearing Studio and expanding our sangha but it will remain closed until further notice. And the videos I was making are also on hold. But here are a few ideas that change up and charge up my own practice:

ZOOM in with our great local teachers or other teachers around the country. Mpls Yoga Center Retreat is where I'm resuming practice. I was there scheduling a meeting for Guest Teaching on the day that Mpls shut down but they have stayed open and like many other training centers deserve a big shout out!  Also Kripalu Connect has great online videos that can be reasonably purchased.

Postures outside?! Minnesota is having a mild winter so I'm practicing in my mucklucks, have held tree pose in the trees, and Goddess with snowshoes on.  No acreage is needed if you have a yard or are in the park. And you can do this with friends!

More pranayama.  How about learning or adding new breathing  techniques, using them with poses, or committing to daily practice of one or two that calm your CNS like alternate nostril breathing.

Share yoga!  You don't have to be a Yoga Teacher, maybe those you are sheltered in with might be open to try some breathing and stretching.

Read! There are so many great books on every aspect of Yoga,  ancient texts as well as current authors. I'm recommending Pranayama  by my friend/collegue Allison Gemmel Laframboise on the work of Yoganand Michael Caroll.

Order some new yoga pants!??  I got some as a gift. I have ols worn out ones (very comfy) but the new ones inspire me because they fit right and are cool looking!  The same thing can be said about music, I found new tunes that put either put me in the flow mood as well as help me sink deeper in relaxation poses.

Connecting your mind, body, and emotions is Yoga. Being in your body & noticing sensations without pushing them away is Kripalu Yoga. This Kripalu Yoginni wanted to push them all away in 2020 as daily living became more and more surreal ! But my practice is always there for me and it is my heartfelt wish that it is there for you too. ANY time you want or need to have a conversation about your practice DO get ahold of me. And continue to check this blog page for notification of when we can meet again live.

Om Shante Peace, Ambi-karen JAI
